This is devil’s food cake, cream cheese frosting, and melted peanut butter. Maybe a play on a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup meets chocolate cake? I needed more then just a plain frosted cake to welcome home our Air Force buddy.
I cut the cake into random squares (and sampled a bite or two), then made a layer on the bottom of the dish. Add melted peanut butter in random dollops and swirls, then cream cheese frosting. Repeat over and over until all is confined to the dish and you are left with just enough frosting and peanut butter to enjoy a lick or two from the spoons.
Simple, delicious, and pretty.
