The Journey To A New Me

I’m so tired of the scale telling me I’m overweight. I’m beyond tired of clothes that don’t fit (hence why I gave away a whole bag of them, mostly out of anger that nothing fit right). I’m tired of chasing my kids around… and then having to sit down and catch my breath. I’m just DONE.

Everyone makes resolutions, and most people never follow through. They stick with it for a week, maybe two, but by the third week they are slipping up or just plain giving up.

Not me.

I’m done.

I weighed in at 210.2 on January 5th and plugged that number in as my starting weight. On January 14th, I weighed in at 207 and plugged that in as my second weigh-in, to give me a loss of 3.2lbs. It’s the start of something great.

I’ve cut out pop – no more Mt. Dew, no more root beers, no more orange Fanta.
I’ve cut out fast food – okay, so I allow Chipotle and Subway, but those are far better choices than McDonald’s and Burger King.
I’ve added protein shakes and smoothies.
I’ve added more water.
I’ve started using my treadmill (and if you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen me complain once or twice). 20-25 minutes a day to start and I’ll build on with faster speeds, longer time, and varying inclines.

My healthy weight for my age and height is about 128. That’s a LOT of weight to lose. I remember being 140 in high school, and I’d be comfortable getting back to there. That’s over 50 pounds to lose.

I’ll be getting some semi-before pictures (which I should have done last week, totally forgot) along with measurements to keep track of those.
