When I was pregnant for the first time, I was 17 years old. During that pregnancy, I wanted to read anything and everything I could about what to expect and all the changes happening to both me and my baby. The Internet was my go-to place for all things pregnancy (and it still is!), but I was never able to find a community. A place filled with moms, who I could connect with and go to for advice. I occasionally found a site I liked, but there was no interaction, no bonding, no socialization.
Today, that’s all changed. Moms are on the Internet like bees on honey. As our lives change, and our children grow, it’s natural for us to want to seek out relationships with others moms so that we can share experiences, and to share our experience with those less-experienced moms. Moms are lovers, caregivers, and sharers, right? So say hello to Moms.com where you can do, share, and learn!
I’ve been blessed (I don’t even think blessed is the right word) with the opportunity to work with Moms.com as their Community Manager. I’m honored and proud of this. Let me show you around!
This is Mom’s Moments. A special feature of the site where you can take a milestone (like first steps, or first daddy/daughter dance) and share with your Moms.com following. It’s all about the special moments that make motherhood unique. You can upload your own photo or use one of our available fun graphics, add text, and change the colors and background. It’s personalized AND shareable – share it Twitter, Facebook, even pin it on Pinterest!
Here’s the header of my profile page. The background image can be changed to whatever you want. I chose a shot from our family vacation to Wrightsville Beach, NC from a couple of years ago. And see my kiddos? You can display your children’s information right on your profile to help you find moms who have children of the same age or gender!
In fact, you can browse the moms on the site to find the ones who are local, or who are in the same stage as your kiddos (like still in the womb, baby, toddler, etc).
Now, I don’t want to share TOO much – I want you to join! I would love to see you over there, talking about your pregnancy (past, present and even future!), or sharing a funny story or picture. So what are you waiting for?
See you on Moms.com!
