Mint Sugar Facial Scrub

There is something super fun about making your own beauty products. It’s like you can be a scientist and hide away in your bathroom with bottles and jars and spoons and make something that makes you feel beautiful. I love easy body and facial scrubs like this – great to use yourself and great to give as gifts! I also loved making this Peppermint Foot Scrub and these Homemade Flavored Lip Gloss pots! Give this scrub recipe a try and let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

1 Cup Sugar
1 tbsp Powdered Milk
¼ Cup Coconut Oil
¼ tsp *Tea Tree Oil or Mint Extract
1 tbsp Vitamin E Oil
1-2 Drop Green Food Coloring (Optional)
Rubbing Alcohol

Directions:
Spray storage container with rubbing alcohol and set aside to dry.

In a microwave safe bowl, melt coconut oil in 10-second bursts, stirring in between.

Mix in your food coloring and tea tree oil, until uniform.

Stir in sugar, vitamin E oil and powdered milk until well incorporated.

Pour into your storage container. These glass jars with hinged lids make for adorable gifts!

Will last up to 6 months in an airtight container.

*Tea Tree Oil is an effective way to treat acne. It has antibacterial properties and is also a good antiseptic for cuts and scrapes.
